Opportunity

A medical cushion inventor had developed a custom mold for his product. He had approached several potential manufacturers, but none of them could satisfy his need for a high-quality finished product.

Challenge

The intricate design of the part, with the various angles and channels that were vital for the integrity of the cushion’s advanced performance, made successfully manufacturing the necessary volume required very difficult.

Solution

MWR’s proprietary dip-molding process was perfect for this specialized cushion. MWR was able to quickly create a sample part that exceeded the client’s rigid specs and received permission to begin production.

Result

MWR was able to ramp up to the high-quality production volumes necessary to meet their needs … well within the client’s timetable. For over 20 years the client has improved and extended his original cushion design to include a number of new designs and applications, with MWR designers able to create and produce a variety of difficult part models to satisfy each new application.
